OnePlus 8T Launch Event

OnePlus just unveiled their new device, called the OnePlus 8T. It has quite a few upgrades over the OnePlus 8. The OnePlus 8T starts at ₹42,999 for 8GB ram and 128GB storage and ₹45,999 for 12GB ram and 256GB storage, it is available in 2 color options- aquamarine green & lunar silver. It goes on sale on October 17th on Amazon India and OnePlus Online Store, with early access starting from October 16th.

The OnePlus 8T has a massive 6.55 inches Fluid AMOLED Display with 120hz screen refresh rate and 91.1% of screen to body ratio, it opts for a flat display instead of a curved display, the display has an A+ rating from DisplayMate. It has a peak brightness of 1100 nits with HDR 10+ certification.

Comparing to the OnePlus 8, it has bumped up the display from 90hz to 120hz making it even more smoother.

The OnePlus 8T also features an Always On Display mode with 11 pre-loaded designs for it and also has a partnership with Snapchat’s Bitmoji so you can now use your Bitmoji avatar on the Always On Display and it will update with your activities and surroundings.


The OnePlus 8T looks a lot like the OnePlus 8, but there are a few key differences, for starters the curved display is now replaced with a flat display. The back of the phone has seen some noticeable differences, the cameras have moved from the centre to a 2x3 array at the top left. There are stereo speakers, one is the bottom firing speaker and the other is the earpiece.

No IP Rating for water and dust resistance. Though OnePlus says that it should survive in wet weather.

The OnePlus 8T is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset and with the UFS 3.1 storage so you can have an even faster experience while being more power-efficient. The OnePlus 8T also offers for heat dissipation, which now has a vapor chamber that is 285% larger than before, so that the device stays cool. The OnePlus 8T comes with 8GB or 12GB of ram and 128GB or 256GB of storage.

The OnePlus 8T is also 5G capable.


Not only the OnePlus 8T changes the rear camera layout but the configuration has changed as well, it now has 4 cameras in the back. It has a 48MP Sony primary camera with optical image stabilisation, 16MP ultra-wide camera with 123 degrees FOV, 5MP macro-camera which has been bumped from 2MP, making it more pertinent and 2MP monochrome sensor.

OnePlus has also added a video portrait mode which blurs out the background while keeping the subject in focus, there is also a video night mode & a super stable mode which promises improved image stabilisation for videos.

The front camera is of 16MP Sony sensor with EIS.

The most impressive spec of the OnePlus 8T is the battery. OnePlus 8T has 65W fast charging via its Warp Charge 65 and that’s a giant leap from OnePlus’ previous 30W Warp Charge 30T. OnePlus claims to charge the phone fully from 0-100% in 39 minutes. OnePlus advertises it as “A day’s power in 15 minutes.”

The OnePlus 8T has a 4500mAh battery which is a slight upgrade over the OnePlus 8 which had a 4300mAh battery.

No wireless charging support.

It comes with a USB Type-C port and bundles the Warp Charger in the box.

OnePlus Buds Z

Alongside the OnePlus 8T, OnePlus also unveiled a new set of wireless earphones, called the OnePlus Buds Z.

OnePlus Buds Z has an IP55-rated dust and swear resistant build and they have silicone ear tips for passive noise cancellation. Each earbud has an advanced 10mm dynamic driver that deliver powerful bass and clear vocals. OnePlus says that the earbuds have a battery life of 5 hours on single charge and 20 hours with the charging case. They also support fast charging and are said to have 3 hours of playback with 10 minutes of charge.

OnePlus Buds Z start at a price of ₹3,190 and are available in 2 color options- gray & white.

OnePlus has also collaborated with California-based artist Steve Harrington to bring two special color editions as well.

OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z- Bass Edition

OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z- Bass Edition are launched exclusively in India, they come with 9.2mm drivers for enhanced bass effect and clear vocals, they also offer environmental noise cancellation and 100ms low-latency delivery. They are also IP55 certified for water & sweat resistance.

They also support Fast charging support and gives you 10 hours of playback on a 10 minute charge and 17 hours of playback on a single charge.

The OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z- Bass Edition starts at ₹1,999 and has 2 color options- reverb red & bass blue.
